1. Nature of the website
balticwayride.com is an informational website presenting Baltic Way Ride, an independent motorcycle travel concept inspired by the Baltic Way route and by motorcycle travel across Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
The website provides information about possible professional support services such as route planning, road notes, local assistance, riding support and photo/video documentation.
2. Not a travel agency
Baltic Way Ride is not a travel agency, tour operator or package travel organiser.
Baltic Way Ride does not sell package holidays, package tours or all-inclusive travel services.
Flights, accommodation, insurance, meals, fuel, ferry tickets, entrance fees, vehicle rental, motorcycle transport and other third-party travel services are booked and paid directly by the rider.
Baltic Way Ride does not act as an intermediary for booking third-party travel services unless this is expressly agreed in writing for a clearly limited administrative support task.
3. Services offered
Depending on the request, Baltic Way Ride may provide one or more of the following professional services:
- custom route planning across Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia;
- road notes and practical riding information;
- local context and destination information;
- riding support on selected days, where agreed;
- photo and video documentation;
- general project support connected with motorcycle travel content.
Each service is provided separately and only after the scope, price and conditions have been agreed in writing.
4. Quotes and agreement
All services are quoted individually depending on the route, dates, duration, preparation time, distance, equipment required and level of support requested.
A written quote must be accepted before any paid work starts. Acceptance may be given by email or other written communication.
The agreed quote will specify, where applicable, the scope of the service, price, payment terms, delivery format, dates and any relevant limitations.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are agreed individually in writing. Unless otherwise stated, prices do not include third-party costs such as accommodation, fuel, meals, ferry tickets, parking, entrance fees or other travel expenses.
Payment terms, deposits and deadlines will be specified in the written quote or invoice.
Work may be delayed or suspended if payment is not received according to the agreed terms.
6. Rider responsibility
The rider remains responsible for their own motorcycle, riding decisions, speed, route choices, safety, legal compliance and physical readiness.
The rider is responsible for having:
- a valid motorcycle licence;
- a roadworthy and legally compliant motorcycle;
- valid motorcycle insurance;
- personal travel insurance, where appropriate;
- valid identification and travel documents;
- suitable protective riding equipment;
- the ability to ride safely in changing weather and road conditions.
Any information provided by Baltic Way Ride is support information and does not replace the rider’s own judgement, legal duties or safety decisions.
7. Route, weather and safety changes
Motorcycle travel depends on weather, road conditions, traffic, ferry schedules, closures, safety considerations and other factors outside the control of Baltic Way Ride.
Routes, timings, meeting points or riding plans may need to be changed for safety, practical or logistical reasons.
Baltic Way Ride may refuse, pause or modify riding support if conditions are considered unsafe or unsuitable.
8. Photo and video services
If photo or video documentation is agreed, the scope, delivery format, usage rights and expected delivery time should be confirmed in writing.
Unless otherwise agreed, photo and video materials are provided for the client’s personal or agreed business use.
Public use of images showing identifiable persons should respect privacy, consent and applicable law.
Baltic Way Ride may use selected images or video material for portfolio or promotional purposes only where this has been agreed or where appropriate permission has been obtained.
9. Cancellations and changes by the client
If the client needs to cancel or change an agreed service, they should inform Baltic Way Ride as soon as possible.
Cancellation terms, deposits, refunds or rescheduling options should be specified in the written quote or agreement.
Work already completed, preparation time already spent and non-refundable costs may be charged.
10. Cancellations or changes by Baltic Way Ride
Baltic Way Ride may cancel, postpone or modify an agreed service due to illness, safety concerns, motorcycle issues, severe weather, force majeure, legal restrictions or other circumstances outside reasonable control.
In such cases, the parties will try to agree a reasonable alternative, rescheduling or partial refund where applicable.
11. Consumer withdrawal rights
Where a service agreement is concluded at a distance with a consumer, mandatory consumer protection rules may apply.
If the client asks for the service to begin before the end of any applicable withdrawal period, the client may be required to pay for the work already performed if they later withdraw, where permitted by law.
Services that are fully performed with the consumer’s prior express consent may be excluded from withdrawal rights where applicable law allows this.
12. Limitation of liability
Baltic Way Ride provides professional support services with reasonable care and skill.
Baltic Way Ride is not responsible for the rider’s driving decisions, traffic violations, accidents, injuries, mechanical problems, theft, loss of luggage, weather conditions, road closures, third-party service failures or costs connected with flights, accommodation, insurance, meals, fuel or other external services.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits liability where such limitation is not allowed by applicable law.
13. Third-party websites and services
The website may contain links to third-party websites or services. These are provided for information only.
Baltic Way Ride is not responsible for the content, availability, prices, terms, safety or privacy practices of third-party websites or service providers.
14. Intellectual property
Text, images, videos, route concepts, road notes and other content published on this website are protected by applicable intellectual property laws unless otherwise stated.
Website content may not be copied, republished, sold or used commercially without prior written permission.
15. Privacy and data protection
Personal data is processed according to the Privacy Policy published on this website.
Cookies and similar technologies are described in the Cookie Policy.
16. Updates to these Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the website, services, legal requirements or business practices.
The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
The parties should first try to resolve any dispute by direct communication.
If no agreement can be reached, disputes may be submitted to the competent courts or authorities according to applicable law.
